Robert's Favorite Fly

You can call it what you want, and there are all sorts of variations out there. But in Montana we called it the JJ-Special. This fly brings back so many good memories for me. It was always the first fly my dad would tie on his line at the boat ramp on the banks of the Yellowstone River. Shortly after he tied one on his line he would tie one on mine. Like a boss, he just knew it would work.

Every time I tie on a JJ-special I am brought back to the banks of the Yellowstone River, young and excited to fish. The JJ-Special is a killer and I recommend you tie one on sometime!

(By the way dad, that is not how you hold a fish.)
