Blue Winged Olives!!

April is officially Blue Winged Olive Month!  AKA;  BWO or Baetis 

BWO's may be one of our favorite hatches of the year, and it is going on right now!  It is the first large mayfly emergence of the year and the trout will feed recklessly on the surface without hesitation.  What are you waiting for?!?!  Get out there and fish.   A size 16 or 18 BWO pattern will do nicely. If you are having a hard time seeing your fly, tie a bigger dry fly on first and then drop the smaller BWO off the back of the bigger one about 20 inches away.
